You have been hired by the renowned treasure-hunting company, GemSeekers Inc., to embark on an exhilarating adventure through a recently discovered cave complex in search of treasure! Each time you enter the cave, you will be responsible for choosing the path you take, revealing cards along the way which accumulate points and unlock the path forward.
What you are looking for in the cave are special cards that hold rare gems 💎:
- Aces (A) are the rarest gems 💎 and most valuable, worth 2 points.
- Kings (K), Queens (Q), Jacks (J), and 10s are more common gems 💎 worth 1 point.
- All other cards do not contain gems and are worth 0 points.
Here's how each trip into the cave will unfold:
- Each time you enter the cave, the first row of cards on the left is unlocked for exploration, as indicated by a golden key 🔑 on the back of the card.
- After flipping a card, the remaining cards in the same row become locked 🔒, while the cave's magic will unlock 🔓 the next row of cards based on your current position.
- If you find a gem, its point value will be added to your total score.
- The deeper you venture into the cave, the more gems you will accumulate. Keep an eye on your total score as you progress to determine how well your adventure is going.
- When you reach the end of the cave, you will ship your treasure off to GemSeekers Inc., and the scoreboards will be updated showing your accomplishments to date.
You will be given 10 chances to explore the cave. Your goal is to send home as many total gems as you can.
